The Saintmarch Troth

“I never knew what he felt. Since that night, I do.”
Anonymous letter, kept in the archives of a holy order
What It Is
The Saintmarch family presents it as an heirloom, passed down from generation to generation, without ever saying who forged it. The holy orders, which have been gathering testimony about it for centuries, record it in their archives as the Ring of Twofold Flesh, and see it as the seal of a pact with an incubus (a spirit that visits sleepers to lie with them), whose nature and name remain unknown. Today it is worn by Lucian Saintmarch. Several of these orders keep a close eye on him, but his powerful protectors have always stopped them from taking it to study.
What It Does
Its wearer can make a lover feel pleasure as the other sex experiences it. Nothing more is known, and even that only through the confidences of those who lived it, gathered over the centuries.
What It Costs
No one knows what the incubus receives in return. Witnesses describe an unforgettable night, and none of them remembers how it ended.
