Thurmkald, the Hourglass of Contemplation

"It does not give you time. It makes silence around you, and in that silence, the time is yours."
What it is
A dwarven-made hourglass, ringed in dark iron, filled with a sand that is not sand: ground stone, heavy with power bound into the matter. As long as it flows, it holds. Turned over, it begins again. The dwarves keep it for those who seek, and smile when someone in a hurry asks them for it.
What it does
Turn it over, and the space draws in around you. A small sanctuary forms, where the world outside settles and falls quiet. In that calm, an hour of study is worth a day: you read, you meditate, you retain what would take weeks to grave into memory. Nowhere does one learn better.
Its limits
The sanctuary holds to the ground, not to you. Where you turned it over, it takes root, and you must stay within its edges to benefit from it. Move the hourglass, and the spell breaks at once: you must wait until the next day to set it running elsewhere. It is not a traveling companion. It is a place you come back to.

Thurmkald is a dwarven hourglass token or prop asset featuring dark iron framing, runic inscriptions along the upper and lower rims, and glowing golden sand mid-flow, set against a wooden surface with a partial scroll visible in the background. The object functions as a magical sanctuary item in tabletop RPG systems, suitable for study, meditation, or time-manipulation encounter mechanics. Compatible with fantasy and Norse-inspired campaigns, this asset works as a scene prop, inventory token, or ability visual for virtual tabletop platforms such as Foundry VTT, Roll20, and Fantasy Grounds.
