The Badge of Dol Murakh

"They see dragons for want of knowing the town."
What it is
An octagonal medallion of forged bronze, hung from a braided leather cord. Two stonescales set back to back frame the anvil and its flame. Travelers see dragons in it, and in Dol Murakh they let them: each of the two beasts carries one of the smithing lines that made the town's name, Thornlith and Drulokh, the Tor and the Dur.
What it does
It is never bought. It passes within the workshop, from master to the journeyman judged fit to answer for a forge of Dol Murakh. Before the client it speaks ahead of the smith: it tells which hand held the hammer, and which line to call to account should the steel betray.
What it costs
It binds the line as much as the man. One failed piece, one broken oath, and both stonescales redden with the guilty. The badge is surrendered before it is soiled. Few can bring themselves to it: without it, a smith of Dol Murakh is only a nameless pair of hands.

The Dol Murakh Insignia is a digital prop asset depicting an octagonal bronze medallion featuring a central anvil and flame motif flanked by two back-to-back dragon or serpent figures, suspended from a braided leather cord with a runic-inscribed toggle. The piece is designed as a guild or faction identifier token, suitable for use as a handout prop, inventory item, or lore artifact in tabletop RPG systems such as D&D 5e, Pathfinder, or custom fantasy settings. It fits encounters involving smith guilds, urban politics, merchant factions, or artisan brotherhoods, and can be used as a VTT asset on platforms such as Foundry VTT, Roll20, or Fantasy Grounds for item card displays or prop reveals.
