Bartholomew Bellcourt

“(smoothing his moustache) My sword? What would I want with my sword in a tavern?”The son of a Valeford draper, he sank his entire inheritance into a suit of armor he doesn’t know how to wear and a coat of arms of his own invention, lion included. The duchy tolerates it as an exception, at the request of the town’s innkeepers, because wherever he settles in, the room fills up. Convinced he’s starting a fashion, he wears his tabard his own way, and at the bar, where they call him “the Knight of the Bar,” he tells tales of exploits he never lived to traveling women who happily listen to the very end. The regulars mock him with genuine fondness. He dreams of being received in noble circles, where he’ll never be invited, and in the meantime, life at the bar suits him just fine.

Bartholomew Bellcourt is a male NPC token depicting a broad-shouldered man in full plate armor wearing a red and white heraldic tabard bearing a lion and cross coat of arms, with long dark hair and a prominent mustache. This character is suited for tavern, social, or urban encounter scenarios as a comic relief knight or imposter nobleman NPC. Compatible with fantasy RPG systems such as D&D 5e, Pathfinder, and Dragonbane, and usable on virtual tabletop platforms including Foundry VTT, Roll20, and Owlbear Rodeo. Ideal for roleplay-heavy sessions requiring a charismatic, non-combat social character in a medieval town or inn setting.
