Ninthora Bel-Kragh, the Sentence That Does Not Tremble.

Among dwarves, blood weighs on every judgment, and no one pretends otherwise. Ninthora has condemned her own kin, refused a favor to her own line, protected a guilty man the whole clan wanted broken. Her house is too old to need to raise its voice; she does not seek to dominate, she straightens what strays. Some of her own no longer greet her. She signs every sentence with a steady hand, and never rereads.

Describe her

She speaks low, without effect, and people lean in to hear her. Her sentences are short, and she never takes one back. When someone flares up in front of her, she waits for them to finish, without looking away, and the silence that follows belongs to her. She humiliates no one, and whoever fears her senses it at once. Whoever lies soon understands that she forgets nothing.

Play her

Answer slowly, as if the conclusion were already carved somewhere and you were waiting for the players to read it themselves. Ask few questions. Make each one force a choice between truth and comfort: ask a PC, in front of their companions, what they would have done alone, then wait without prompting. Reward the right act, never the fine intention. Depending on what the PCs do, she becomes judge, ally, or impassable wall, and it is theirs alone to decide which.
