The Ordo Aurorae Temple of Valeford, by Night

The square is empty, the stalls folded away, the shutters closed, and a single lit window still keeps watch above the wet cobblestones. At the far end of the square, the temple raises its two towers into the night sky, and the moon pales the stone until it takes on the color of bone. The great sun on the facade is now only a dark disk, the window has lost all its gold, and the banners hang motionless between the columns. On the frieze, the motto can still be made out: SOL LUCET OMNIBUS · NOS EJUS GLADII (the sun shines for all, we are its swords). The doors are shut. Beside the entrance, a brazier burns alone at the top of the steps, and its crackling is the only sound rising from the square, loud enough to be heard from afar, quiet enough that you lower your voice as you draw near.

The Aurorae Temple Night scene depicts a large gothic cathedral facade set within a medieval urban district under a full moon, featuring stone steps leading to an ornate entrance door with a circular rose window motif, flanked by half-timbered buildings and cobblestone streets. Dim lantern light and deep shadows create a dark, atmospheric environment suited for encounters involving cults, undead, or secretive religious factions. This asset is well-suited for investigation, ambush, or confrontation encounters in fantasy RPG systems such as D&D 5e, Pathfinder, or Call of Cthulhu, and is compatible with virtual tabletops including Foundry VTT, Roll20, and Fantasy Grounds.
