The Watcher's Road

We reached the road on the third day, and there was no arguing with what we saw: it is kept. Not a fallen stone, not a branch, not a leaf on the flagstones, while the moss eats everything else in the gorge, the rocks, the trunks, even the steps we had just come down. Our guide refused to explain. He said only to walk in the middle and to pick nothing up.
A white stone spire stands in the falls, very tall, worked like lace, and the water passes around it without wearing it away. I tried to go closer. The mist rose all at once and I saw nothing at all for a length of time I could not judge. When it settled, I was on the road, on the right side of it, with no idea how I had got back.
We met no one. I insist on this: no one. But that evening, counting our provisions, exactly the portion one sets aside for a guest was missing, and not one of us remembered taking it.
Les deux autres titres si tu changes d'avis : The Road of Watches et The Road No One Dirties. Le second passe mieux en anglais qu'en français, il a le tour d'un vrai nom populaire

The Watcher's Road is a fantasy outdoor scene set within a narrow forest gorge, featuring twin waterfalls cascading into a still pool, a tall carved white stone spire rising from the falls, a rainbow arching through the mist, and a mossy flagstone path running along the right bank. The scene includes a large moss-covered boulder emerging from the water and dense tree canopy framing the canyon walls. This battlemap suits wilderness exploration, fey crossing, or guardian encounter scenarios in fantasy tabletop RPGs such as Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder, or similar systems, and is compatible with virtual tabletop platforms including Foundry VTT, Roll20, and Alchemy.
