Mandëor, the Grave Breaker
"It breaks nothing. It commands. And what hears it has already ceased to obey another master."
— Ordo Aurorae, Book of WardensWhat it is
An ancient morningstar, the work of a master fit for a king. Few can read it for what it is. It has served the armed branch of the Ordo Aurorae for centuries, borne by its commander alone. At rest, no mark, no glow betrays what it holds. To the eye, a magnificent weapon, and nothing more.
What it does
It strikes like a weapon of its make, without mercy, but its true edge lies elsewhere. The magic sealed within it reaches for the bond the necromancer weaves between dead matter and the realm of the dead. What it touches does not rise again: the body remains, and what animated it departs. Even the great undead fear it, and when it draws near them, its head wakes with a light that does not flicker.
What the Order keeps silent
One secret passes from commander to commander, never set on paper, never spoken beyond the safest walls. The weapon is not only a weapon. At its heart sleeps that which once reigned over the dead, and what reigned once reigns still. It does not sever the necromancer's bond; it supplants it. The power yields, for it knows an authority older than the hand that holds it. Two living men know whence that authority comes. They keep their silence.
Mandëor is a token or prop asset depicting an ornate ceremonial mace with a gold spiked star-shaped head and an engraved leather-wrapped handle, displayed alongside a matching embossed leather holster bearing a sun emblem, set against a wooden plank background. The weapon is designed for use as a named legendary item in fantasy tabletop RPG campaigns, particularly suited to encounters involving undead factions, religious orders, or anti-necromancy storylines. It is compatible with virtual tabletop platforms such as Foundry VTT, Roll20, and Fantasy Grounds as an inventory item, handout, or loot token. Suitable for D&D 5e, Pathfinder, and similar fantasy RPG systems.
