Carrion Woz Extract

"What can mend bones can also make weapons of them. It all depends on the hand that holds the flask."Phial of Charnel WozIt is obtained by leaving a portion of Carrion Woz, taken from a slain beast, to settle in a sealed stoneware jar. Within a few weeks, the bones and debris sink to the bottom, and a thick, dark red serum rises to the surface, still carrying the creature's slow glow. That serum is what is called the extract. The rest is burned, and burned completely, for a forgotten jar bottom has been known to start crawling again.
The Carrion Woz assembles the bones it carries into jaws and claws, and its extract keeps a little of that gift. Applied in the thinnest layer to a fracture that has been set, it helps the bone knit in a few days where nature takes months. Bonesetters who use it do not like to say so, because in other hands the same extract binds together bones that no longer belong to anyone, and more than one necromancer keeps a supply in the workshop.
Its glow is credited with another virtue: it is said to beat stronger as the dead draw near. Some who search for forgotten ossuaries use it to find what the earth hides, and so do a few grave robbers.
Poorly settled, it keeps its debris, and the wound one meant to heal festers instead of closing. Well settled, it remains suspect. In lands where the Ordo Aurorae keeps watch, a red flask in a healer's satchel is enough to open an inquiry.

A glass conical flask sealed with a leather stopper and twine, containing dark red organic matter resembling dried flesh or crimson botanical fibers, labeled with a blank parchment tag and set on a wooden surface surrounded by scattered herbs. The ornate iron-cornered frame and alchemical vessel design suggest a necromantic or alchemical ingredient token suitable for dark fantasy, horror, and RPG settings. This asset functions as a prop token, inventory item illustration, or potion/reagent card for tabletop RPG systems such as D&D, Pathfinder, or Call of Cthulhu, and is compatible with virtual tabletop platforms including Foundry VTT, Roll20, and Fantasy Grounds.
