Rapier

“Three fingers of steel are enough, if you know where to put them.”The rapier is the sword of cities. Its long, slender blade strikes with the point, and the steel bars of its hilt wrap the hand better than a gauntlet. It is worn at the side with everyday clothes: nobles, officers, and young burghers learn it in fencing halls, notably with the War Dancers (a school renowned for one-handed weapons). Against an unarmored man, it lands before the opponent is within reach. Against plate, it has to find the armpit, the visor, or the joints, and a duelist who misses often sees his blade bend or snap. The hilt is the most expensive part of the weapon, and it is by the hilt that people judge the purse of the one who wears it.

A rapier token or prop asset depicting a long, slender thrusting sword with an ornate steel cage hilt and a matching brown leather scabbard with two suspension straps, laid on a dark wooden surface. This weapon item is suited for urban fantasy, Renaissance, and historical RPG encounters involving nobles, duelists, fencing masters, or city guards. Compatible with virtual tabletop platforms such as Roll20, Foundry VTT, and Fantasy Grounds as an inventory item, loot token, or equipment icon for one-handed finesse weapon users.
