Naramedir, sorcerer of no guild, who learned magic with a broom in his hand.
He came into a guild through the back door, carrying a bucket. For years he did the cleaning by day and read at night, alone, what nobody thought to forbid him because nobody imagined he could understand it. His first spells he cast in secret, in the empty corridors. The day he presented himself for enrollment, he was told that what he had learned that way did not count. He smiled, he left, and he has been learning on the roads ever since.
Describe him
He speaks low and slow, and never takes a sentence back, like a man who worked a long time while others talked. He asks questions instead of answering them. When someone goes after what he knows, he does not defend it; he lets a silence fall and picks up where he left off. His hands are clean and tired. He tidies whatever is lying about around him without thinking, in other people's homes, in the middle of a conversation.
Play him
Never play him bitter. He smiled, and he sincerely believes he won. Have him ask the simple question the learned men never asked. In front of a guild mage he neither attacks nor justifies himself: he asks politely what the thing the other just did is for, and watches the answer fail to come. He helps whoever is in front of him, unasked and for nothing, because that is what he believes in. And hold, underneath, that he was told once that he did not count, and that he keeps checking it.
What he says (rarely)
"I learned standing up, with a broom in my hand. So don't doubt what you can do."
"That's not magic. That's a shop sign."
"(softly) Show me. I don't know that gesture."
Naramedir is a dwarf character token depicting a stocky, bald male figure with a long braided red beard adorned with metal rings, wearing a light blue robe cinched with a leather belt, and holding a carved wooden staff. He stands before an ornate stone doorway, suggesting an institutional or arcane setting. This token suits a self-taught wandering mage or guild-independent sorcerer role in fantasy tabletop RPG encounters, fitting classes such as wizard, hedge mage, or lore seeker.
