Octavius Grinmach
Octavius Grinmach holds that money should never cost you any risk, and he has poured everything he has into the only two schools that make a man say yes when he was about to say no: charm and illusion. They feed a master of them very well indeed. You will have gathered that he is not the one who takes point, and not the one you leave your back to. But convince him of the reward and you will watch him find his courage again, or at least something close enough to it to do the job.Describe him
He welcomes you into somebody else's home as though it were his own, and pours you a drink from the owner's glasses. He rolls his r's. He rolls people too, though never as fast as he talks. Every expression he wears is pitched one notch too high, the smile, the surprise, the sorrow. He keeps as many roles going as he has hairs on his head. Nobody has ever seen him angry.Play him
Never let him observe. Let him step in. He already knows somebody, in every town, at every table. Play him grinning, available, glad to discuss anything, able to go from grave to laughing simply by moving to another conversation. And if he sees the slightest chance to make money with a spell outside of a fight, he will take it, which is why he so often arrives in the brawl holding a dagger and wearing the smile of a man who has already spent everything.Keep, underneath, a man who takes no risks at all and always finds the price at which he would take one.
What he says (often)
"You are not paying for my services. You are investing in your future by hiring me.""You are right. Absolutely right. And you will be even more right once you hear me out."
(smiling, hand already on your shoulder) "Friend! We know each other, you and I, surely."
