Elianor, Cantor of the Ordo Aurorae
Elianor was still a child when voices in her head showed her the path to the light. The Ordo saw it as a calling. The voices never left. In time, Elianor found a place to house them: as cantor, she tends only the antiphonaries, those immense books that several brothers read together to sing the offices. In the midst of the choir, her voices blend with the others and no one can tell them apart. Outside the temple, they sing alone.
Describe her
Inside the temple, she comes to you like a ray of sunshine, arms already open, and takes your hands without knowing you. It is hardly proper, but here no one takes offense anymore. Her voice is clear and carries far without ever rising to a shout. Meet her outside, and you won't recognize her. Shoulders hunched, she hugs the walls, flinches at the voices of passersby, and searches for a door she cannot find.Play her
Run to greet every visitor, like a child, and ask whether they need anything. Take everything literally, jokes and irony alike. Now and then, speak aloud to a brother from the temple who isn't there, then return to the conversation as if nothing happened. If the players take her outside, have her stick close to whoever carries the light, torch or lantern, and shrink from every dark corner, convinced that wicked people hide there. Never lose sight of the fact that there is nothing unsettling about her: to her, the voices are simply brothers singing a little too far away.What she says (rarely)
