The armor Mow wears still belongs to the army, like the sword at his belt: he took them the day he deserted, and has never been ashamed of it. Stealing, deserting, that's how it is, and he is cut out for it. Fifty years in the iron mines made him a block, hard, one-eyed, near impossible to intimidate. No one ever came looking for him. Every evening, he tends that stolen gear with the care of a soldier on active duty.
Describe him
He moves little, and every gesture counts. He speaks even less, in a low voice that uses no more air than it must. An insult slides off him without a flicker. He sits with his back to the wall and turns his head more than most to cover the side of the lost eye, so that nothing gets past him on that side either. But doubt that he will hold, and something rises in him before he does.Play him
Play him massive, sparing, slow to speak but never slow to strike. Not a word about the army, even less about the mines. Let a jibe slide off him, then have him rise at once the moment a PC questions his endurance: one step forward, nothing more, and the table feels it had better take the line back. He does the work honest folk won't, and asks no one to approve of it. Everything in him rests on a single pride, lasting longer than anyone else.What he says (rarely)
