Steel Half-Plate
“Steel for the heart, prayers for the knees.”Half-plate is the armor of the sergeant, the militia officer, and the mercenary who has survived long enough to afford it. Steel covers the torso, shoulders, arms, and upper thighs, and the rest of the legs is left to mail or leather. It costs far less than a full harness, and a man can put it on alone in a few minutes. The savings are paid for in the legs: a foot soldier who knows his trade strikes low, and half-plate veterans often recognize one another by their limp. Fitted to the body of the man who ordered it, it bruises the shoulders of whoever buys it secondhand, until an armorer refits it.A steel half plate armor token asset displayed on a wooden armor stand, featuring a full torso breastplate, pauldrons, faulds, and visible chainmail at the joints, set against a stone wall background. This item token is suited for medieval fantasy RPG encounters involving soldiers, mercenaries, knights, or militia NPCs and player characters. Compatible with virtual tabletop platforms such as Roll20, Foundry VTT, and Fantasy Grounds, it can serve as an inventory item, loot drop, or equipment icon in systems like D&D 5e, Pathfinder, or OSR games.
